I Can Finally Breathe

This past week has been the least stressful week of the semester. It was the first week of relaxing and it will probably be the last. There were no tests to study for, no papers to write, no lab from the previous week to finish at the last minute. The football team had a bye week; therefore, the band had Thursday night and Friday practices off. I probably could have used the off time to make sure that I understand rates of chemical reactions (well I did look at the book for a few minutes), but I decided to go and hang out at Hope and Angela's place.

Last night, K K Psi and the pledges were supposed to go bowling, but since everyone went home for the weekend I was the only one there so they canceled and we went out to eat. I rode with Marcellus, Howie, and Cam. Since we arrived at the restaurant before everyone else, we decided to walk around the plaza. We came across a really nice comic book store. I never was a collector or reader of comic books, but I'm pretty sure one could have found any comic book he or she was looking for in that store. The Silver Surfer in the middle of store on display was EPIC!
Buffalo Wild Wings had an hour wait time so we had another change of plans. We unanimously decided to go to Hooters. That was my first time at Hooters and it was HOT in there (in more ways than one). See what I did there? Seriously, it was like an oven. All of the bruhs were really fun to hang out with. I close this with a video of two of the bruhs rapping to one of the Hooter girls, trying to get her to take a picture with their mixtape promotion poster.

I hate writing papers, but I love my English teacher and how 'cool' he is.
He always refers to us as "you cats" or "peeps." He has really made me enjoy Composition II.

The weather outside is starting to feel really nice. It's still a little hotter than what it should be in October but that's okay with me. If the weather is too cold my skin gets super dry and my elbow basically turns into sandpaper.

You know that chem test that I was studying for last night? Well, I show up to take the test and sit and wait ten minutes after the test was supposed to start only for Sikabwe to walk in and say something went wrong with the printer so we couldn't take it then. I was so angry. I was ready ready to get the test out of the way. He gave us the decision to come back three hours later to take it (which I did) or Friday. I think I did fairly well on it.

Had lunch today with Erin, Hope, Douglas, and Michael at SAGA before the test. It was just okay. The baked potatoes were good, corn on the cob not so good, and the baked chicken was greasy and somewhat flavorless.

Wrote the introduction to my "Effects of Music Piracy" paper and now it's time for band.

The Changing of Seasons

I guess I will just give a little information about myself should anyone happen to 'stumble upon' this. My name is Jeremy. I was not adopted. I am American. I am biracial (African American and Caucasian). I am a student at Troy University and am completely happy calling myself a Trojan and member of the greatest marching band in the country--"The Sound of the South." I am a Biology major with a Biomedical Sciences concentration, which I hope to use one day to become a pharmacist. My family and friends is the reason I am. The reason I exist. It is their encouragement and support that has gotten me to the point I'm at in life and I am so glad to have such amazing people in my life.

I have an AWFUL memory. I cannot emphasize it enough: Remembering things is not my forté. In an effort to keep the significant things down so that I can reflect on them later, I would like to start posting tidbits of my day/week here. Honestly, now is probably the worst time to be starting this. I have a chemistry test tomorrow (spent the past few hours reading three chapters and notes about intermolecular forces, properties of solutions, and chemical reactions in equilibrium), a lab from last week that I have to turn in Thursday, a pre-lab that also has to be done by Thursday, AND a paper due Friday.

Cold showers, courtesy of Alumni Hall, are not something I look forward to. I am going to do everything in my power next fall semester to make sure I get out of this dorm. It's not conducive to good study habits (idiots running up and down the hall yelling) or healthy eating habits (walking distance to the Trojan Center with all kinds of fast food options). Hopefully I'll be able to get off campus or at LEAST into Clements/Shack/ANYTHING other than Alumni.

Well it's time to wind down and head to bed. Listening to some tunes and then it's lights out.
